Overlooking Lake Michigan, the Van Halsema cottage at Overview has been one of the most cherished gathering places for the sizable and now quite scattered Van Halsema clan. And one of those family reunions was in June of 1966 when they held perhaps one of the most extensive and most memorable family get togethers.
For those Van Halsema folks enjoy the memories -- and for the rest of us, well, let's just hope we can say our childhood was at least half this much fun. . .
