A semi-regular feature of our trips to Paris has always been quality time exploring the major culinary vendors such as Mora, Detou, Dehillerin, and Librarie Gourmande, at least for Susie. In past trips she has also taken a series of professional development courses at Le Cordon Bleu and croissant and macaron classes at Lenotre on the Champs Elysees.
Not surprisingly, then, this May she's signed up for two classes (both in French). (I'll be off playing the flaneur, wandering around Paris.)
The first class is for a half day on May 22, from 14:00-18:00 at Alain Ducasse's Ecole de Cuisine and will cover Tout chocolat Entremet chocolat/groseille- Chouquettes chocolat/safran - Truffes chocolat au lait/citron. The school is located in the 16th arr. I'll probably stroll around Passy while Susie is baking, paying my respects to Edouard Manet and his sister-in-law, Berthe Morisot. I just might drop by and say to Claude Debussy and Gabriel Faure while I'm in the neighborhood.
The second class, on May 23, is Millefeuilles Chocolat, taught by Christophe Felder. The class runs from 18:30-21:00 in the Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne. We're already planning on a stroll to the Metro after I pick up Susie followed by a light supper.
Stay tuned!

The French Tarte teaches a baking class
Yesterday, Saturday, Susie drove up to Whitinsville to teach a baking class at the home of some friends of Dick and Dorothy. The students were young but focused, eager and attentive -- and the results amazing: madeleines, chocolate moelleux cakes and chocolate diamant cookies (chocolate being well-represented obviously).
